Earlier this year my iPod Video (1st Gen) suffered a cracked screen. My wife bugged me to get it fixed and so I found a good deal on a screen repair for it. iKaput was offering free repair with purchase of the new screen for $80 and about $12 for FedEx return. This did not seem like too bad a deal and it was on sale form the regular price which was about industry standard. So I purchased the repair and sent in the iPod. Well, now 2 weeks later, I have had no response as to whether my iPod ever made it to the facility, is being repaired, or was lost in shipping. Emails and phone calls go unanswered yet my credit card has been charged. I did take precautions an had the iPod insured for shipping through the U.S. Postal service (who has never failed me).
Stupid me, I did not research these guys too well and have since found a lot of unsatisfied customers. There are a lot of satisfied customers too. So is the company, iKaput, just over whelmed with repairs, are they a scam and selling my iPod on EBay, or did the iPod make it into the Bermuda Triangle? I have a while to wait until I can make a claim on the insurance through the U.S. Postal Service, so hopefully iKaput got the iPod, made the repairs and will be shipping it back soon. Meanwhile I have to listen to crappy radio in the truck during my commute. What a drag. I am missing out on so many podcasts that I have been listening to religiously for the last 3-1/2 years.
Hey iKaput, what is up with my repair?!?!
