Italian design studio Fioravanti is working on a vehicle window system that will not need wipers but rely on nano technology. The first layer of the windshield is based on titanium dioxide: it filters the sun but, above all, gives the windscreen a strong hydrophobic effect. The second layer of glass is actually made up of microscopic dust which will push dirt to the sides of the glass, in turn activated by sensors placed in the third layer of the windshield. And the fourth layer? It is a conductor of electricity, needed to power the operation of this complicated windscreen.
