It appears that my site hosed up a while back due to an unknown reason, but the plugins were suspected. So I yanked them out by the roots at the suggestion of my web host (Dreamhost) and verified the site would come back up and one by one re-install the plugins that I use and leave the unused ones off the site completely.
Seems to have worked, but we will see in the morning

Yup, sometimes the plugins are to blame. I’ve found that some are very incompatible with each other. Sometimes it can be fixed by disabling some one at a time to see if it could be that one. The plugin I had problems with was “Ajax Comment Posting” and “Yet Another Related Posts Plugin”. There were a couple others, like the Ajax plugin that made your site load and look cooler, but totally screwed up my premium blog. Hope that works for ya!
